Marbling is addictive - fact! Learn this traditional skill and make a stack of papers to take home with you. For full details, please see the product description below.

After signing up for this course you will need to create a customer account using your email address - full details and directions will be sent to the email address you provide along with an e-ticket. If you would like the e-ticket to show a different name, please leave a note when making your order.

PLEASE NOTE: This class is suitable for ages 16 and over. We also have a studio dog called Ludo, who is very friendly and relaxed!

On this in-depth introductory course you will learn:

- how to prepare the marbling bath

- how to mix paints

- what paper to use and how to prepare your paper for marbling

- how to make traditional and contemporary patterns using marbling tools

This class shows you how to make inks from pre-made paints that are readily available, and concentrates on the use of water-based paints.

Marbling can be a wonderfully messy business, so please wear old clothes/shoes/an apron that you don't mind getting a bit paint splattered! Materials will be provided for the workshop but there will be supplies and packs available to purchase on the day. Please do bring a packed lunch or snack as the nearest cafe does not open at weekends. Teas and coffees and biscuits will be near at hand all day! Please also be aware that we have a studio dog called Ludo, who is very docile, soppy, and addicted to attention and peanut butter.
